This is the shortest path from a fresh account to a published Privacy Policy. It assumes you have a Dekimu account (you sign in at id.dekimu.com) and that miniterms is part of your entitlement.
Step 1 — Sign in
Go to miniterms.com and click Sign in. You will be bounced to id.dekimu.com/auth and back. There is no separate miniterms password; identity is owned by Dekimu Hub. When you land on the dashboard, you are signed in.
Step 2 — Fill in your business profile
Open Business profile in the sidebar. miniterms generates everything from this single record — company name, legal form, country of establishment, contact email for data subject requests, and the list of products you sell. The profile is the only thing you ever edit by hand. Save it once and you can regenerate every document from it later.
Mandatory fields for any Privacy Policy generation:
- Legal name and (if different) commercial name
- Country of establishment (sets the default jurisdiction)
- Data Protection contact email — this is the address that goes into your published policy under [GDPR art. 13(1)(b)] as the controller's contact point
- Processing purposes — at least one of: account, billing, support, marketing, analytics
- Whether you use any sub-processor outside the EEA
Step 3 — Pick a jurisdiction
Open Documents → Privacy Policy and choose the jurisdiction. Spain is the default for accounts established in Spain. EU is the right choice for any controller established anywhere in the EU/EEA but without Spain-specific obligations. UK is for controllers established in the UK and triggers UK GDPR + DPA 2018 references instead of the EU instrument.
If you serve users in multiple jurisdictions, you do not pick the country of your users — you pick the country where you are established. The rest follows from there.
Step 4 — Generate
Press Generate. miniterms runs the Mode B render — it walks your profile against the jurisdiction's regulator citation set and produces a complete policy, with inline citations like [GDPR art. 13] next to the clauses they support. Generation usually takes one to two seconds.
You will see a preview pane on the right with three tabs: Markdown, HTML, and JSON-LD. The HTML tab is what you publish.
Step 5 — Publish
You have two options:
- Dekimu-hosted — get a
miniterms.com/p/<your-slug>URL you can link from your site footer - Self-host — copy the HTML or download a ZIP and put it on your own site
For your first run, Dekimu-hosted is fastest. You can switch later without regenerating. See Hosting options for the full comparison.
That's it — you have a regulator-citation-backed Privacy Policy in production. Next, generate a Terms of Service and a Cookie Policy from the same profile.
